We’re recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join a stable and welcoming business in Alton, known for its supportive team culture and reliable work–life balance.
 
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, ideal for someone with accounts administration experience who enjoys variety, teamwork, and being part of a well-organised office environment.
 
The Role
You’ll support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the office, working across accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and general administration.
The team works on a rotational basis to ensure full cover during annual leave and sickness, so flexibility and a willingness to support different functions is essential.
Key responsibilities include:

Purchase Ledger

  • Raising purchase orders
  • Posting supplier invoices
  • Reconciling supplier accounts
  • Ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time

Sales Ledger

  • Raising sales orders and sales invoices
  • Allocating incoming payments
  • Handling customer and payment queries
General Duties
  • Reconciling bank accounts on a regular basis
  • Accurate data entry into bespoke accountancy software
  • Supporting general office administration as required

About You

  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable is required
  • AAT qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Comfortable with accurate data entry and working with financial information
  • Willing to learn new systems (full training provided on Diomac accounting software)
  • Flexible, reliable, and happy to support the wider team when needed
