We are working with a well-established distribution business to recruit an experienced Warehouse Manager. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the warehouse.

This opportunity would suit a commercially aware, hands-on leader who can manage both people and processes while driving performance and maintaining high operational standards.

The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring materials are received, stored, and distributed efficiently while meeting customer and business requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, prioritising, and monitoring daily workloads to ensure on-time delivery performance
  • Leading and coordinating warehouse teams to achieve operational targets
  • Identifying and resolving issues quickly to minimise disruption
  • Planning outbound deliveries and next-day load schedules
  • Managing warehouse space, racking, and resources effectively
  • Ensuring stock accuracy and alignment between physical and system records
  • Implementing and maintaining warehouse systems and procedures
  • Training and developing staff to ensure consistent performance
  • Managing consumables and purchasing within agreed budgets
  • Planning staffing levels, holidays, and overtime requirements

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensuring all operations comply with Health & Safety regulations and company policy
  • Conducting regular audits and maintaining a clean, safe working environment
  • Supporting ISO-compliant processes and procedures
  • Overseeing maintenance of warehouse equipment and machinery
  • Ensuring transport operations comply with O Licence and driver regulations, including tachograph checks

About You

  • Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager or senior supervisory role
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities
  • Experience implementing and maintaining warehouse systems and procedures
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Strong problem-solving ability and commercial awareness
  • Good IT skills with experience in stock control systems
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety and transport legislation
